Málaga capital ha finalizado el mes de marzo a la cabeza en ocupación hotelera. Está entre las ciudades de más de 500.000 habitantes con mayor tasa de ocupación situándose por encima de ciudades como Sevilla, Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid y Zaragoza. Todas esas grandes urbes han registrado datos por debajo del 70% mientras que la capital malagueña ha alcanzado un 72,4% de ocupación. Son datos publicados por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE). La estancia media en Málaga sí que ha sido algo inferior a la de Barcelona pero igual que la de Madrid, 2,13 días, una cifra que le ha valido colocarse por encima de Valencia, Sevilla y Zaragoza. En marzo, un total de 102.592 turistas pernoctaron en alguno de los hoteles de Málaga, triplicando el dato del año pasado en el mismo periodo. De todos ellos, 51.505 viajeros hoteleros eran internacionales mientras que 51.087 llegaron desde otras comunidades autónomas. Por mercados internacionales, Reino Unido lidera en cuanto a la procedencia de los turistas. Le siguen alemanes y holandeses.
