El Ayuntamiento de Málaga aprueba modificar el Plan Especial de Protección de Reforma Interior del Centro, el llamado Pepri Centro. En concreto, en lo que concierne a su delimitación. Esto quiere decir que se amplía la protección de barrios históricos periféricos que por sus características de parcelación y por su arquitectura, es necesario preservar. Los límites de la modificación de este plan de conservación comprenden alrededor del Perchel Sur, Perchel Norte, Trinidad, la barriada de El Molinillo y el Mercado de Salamanca. También Falda del Seminario, Conde de Ureña, Ferrándiz y Barcenilla así como La Malagueta. Esta ampliación permitirá, por ejemplo, facilitar la llegada de fondos europeos para la regeneración de estas zonas o la simplificación de procedimientos administrativos para actuar en estos barrios. Para la modificación se han tenido en cuenta las opiniones de diferentes entidades, colectivos vecinales y ciudadanos.
