Renfe incluye desde esta semana los trenes AVE entre Madrid y Málaga en la prueba piloto que está desarrollando para viajar con perros. Desde ahora y hasta mayo, los clientes podrán sacar billete para estas mascotas. Por el momento, las pruebas se están llevando a cabo con animales que no superen los 40 kilos de peso. Cada perro viaja con su propio billete que el cliente puede adquirir como complemento al sacar el suyo. El precio del billete para la mascota es de 35 euros. El servicio Pet Friendly se puede adquirir hasta 24 horas antes del viaje. Se permitirá un perro grande por viajero, con un máximo de dos perros grandes por tren, que serán ubicados en un solo coche y siempre en un espacio fijo de dos plazas determinadas, según informa Renfe. Antes de subir al tren, el cliente debe dirigirse al centro de servicios AVE en la estación de Atocha o en la de María Zambrano. deberá hacerlo con 40 minutos de antelación como mínimo. Allí presentará la documentación sanitaria del animal y firmará la declaración responsable. Renfe, a cambio, le proporcionará al cliente una funda y una alfombrilla para el asiento de la mascota.
