🔴Noticia – Rincón inaugura el yacimiento romano de Villa Antiopa

Rincón de la Victoria cuenta con un nuevo atractivo cultural y turístico. Este lunes se ha inaugurado Villa Antiopa, un yacimiento arqueológico romano datado entre finales del siglo III y principios del siglo IV d.C. Estos restos se han convertido en un espacio museístico que persigue dar a conocer y proteger el patrimonio histórico del municipio rinconero. El alcalde de la localidad, Francisco Salado, ha asistido a la inauguración junto a otros representantes del Gobierno en Málaga y de la Junta, así como miembros de la comunidad científica provincial, y el tejido educativo, social y empresarial del municipio. Las obras de restauración del yacimiento y puesta en marcha del espacio museístico de Villa Antiopa han supuesto una inversión de 893.000 euros de los que el Gobierno Central ha financiado el 75%. El 25% restante ha correspondido al Ayuntamiento. Francisco Salado ha destacado la importancia de este yacimiento y lo ha puesto como un ejemplo de cómo un bien patrimonial puede ser integrado en una construcción contemporánea. Y es que estos restos se encuentran debajo de un edificio de viviendas y fueron descubiertos cuando se levantó el inmueble. En Villa Antiopa se exhiben 13 mosaicos y 142 piezas de época romana como columnas, ánforas, mármoles, metales y otros utensilios.
