La Policía Local de Vélez-Málaga ha detenido a un hombre de 23 años por supuestamente haber provocado dos accidentes de tráfico en la localidad tras los que se dio a la fuga. Además, al arrestado se le acusa de agredir de forma violenta a cuatro agentes en el momento de su captura. Los hechos se produjeron este viernes, 17 de febrero, cuando un vehículo BMW provocó un accidente de tráfico en la rotonda del Centro Comercial El Ingenio y se dio a la fuga del lugar realizando una maniobra en sentido contrario. Un testigo avisó a la Policía Local de los hechos. Los agentes llegaron en dos patrullas hasta un lugar próximo donde encontraron el vehículo estacionado sobre la acera. Al percatarse de que los agentes le acechaban y le intentaban cerrar el paso, emprendió la huída realizando una nueva maniobra de riesgo golpeando uno de los vehículos policiales e, incluso, estuvo a punto de atropellar a uno de los policías. Después, chocó con otro vehículo en una rotonda cercana y fue entonces cuando emprendió la huída a pie. Los policías le siguieron y cuando le alcanzaron, el fugitivo les propinó cabezazos, puñetazos y patadas además de amenazas de muerte. Los agentes consiguieron reducirle y le trasladaron a dependencias policiales donde le realizaron una prueba de alcoholemia en la que dio positivo. Los cuatro policías agredidos tuvieron que ser atendidos en un centro de salud por las lesiones producidas.

The policemen followed him and when they caught up with him, the fugitive headbutted, punched and kicked them as well as threatening to kill him. The agents managed to reduce him and transferred him to police stations where they performed a breathalyzer test in which he gave a positive result. The four assaulted police officers had to be treated at a health center for the injuries they sustained.
