El Ayuntamiento de Málaga ha presentado este lunes el proyecto de remodelación del paseo marítimo de El Palo. Esta actuación se une a la renovación integral del paseo marítimo de Pedregalejo y a la creación del Parque Marítimo de los Baños del Carmen. En total, estas tres actuaciones están valoradas en casi 29 millones de euros y supondrá la renovación de más de 100.000 metros cuadrados de la zona este de la ciudad. Se pretende ampliar el espacio peatonal de estos paseos marítimos y las zonas adyacentes y crear un gran parque. Entre las actuaciones previstas en el arreglo del paseo de El Palo, el Ayuntamiento quiere unificar el pavimento con la instalación de losas de hormigón de gran formato y piezas de piedra natural. También se eliminarán las diferentes cotas provocadas por los bordillos que existen. Se instalarán, además, una serie de pérgolas que proporcionen sombra y sustituirán a las actuales que están muy deterioradas. Cambiarán también los accesos a la playa. Estos serán más amplios que los actuales. En cuanto a la vegetación, se mantendrán especies como palmeras y ficus plantados en maceteros de acero y se remodelarán las zonas ajardinadas. También se cambiará el mobiliario urbano con nuevos bancos y papeleras y se instalarán nuevas farolas. El plazo de ejecución de esta obra es de 23 meses. El diseño del proyecto, antes de su licitación, será sometido a la valoración de los vecinos, comerciantes y hosteleros del entorno.

The Málaga City Council has presented this Monday the remodeling project of the El Palo promenade. This action joins the comprehensive renovation of the Pedregalejo promenade and the creation of the Baños del Carmen Maritime Park. In total, these three actions are valued at almost 29 million euros and will involve the renovation of more than 100,000 square meters in the eastern part of the city. It is intended to expand the pedestrian space of these promenades and adjacent areas and create a large park. Among the actions planned in the arrangement of the Paseo de El Palo, the City Council wants to unify the pavement with the installation of large-format concrete slabs and pieces of natural stone. The different heights caused by the curbs that exist will also be eliminated. In addition, a series of pergolas will be installed to provide shade and will replace the current ones that are very deteriorated. Access to the beach will also change. These will be broader than the current ones. Regarding the vegetation, species such as palm trees and ficus planted in steel pots will be maintained and the garden areas will be remodelled. Street furniture will also be changed with new benches and litter bins and new streetlights will be installed. The term of execution of this work is 23 months. The design of the project, before its bidding, will be submitted to the evaluation of the neighbors, merchants and hoteliers of the environment.
