🔴Noticia – Arranca el juicio contra la presunta trama de corrupción en Estepona

Este lunes comienza en la Audiencia de Málaga el juicio del denominado caso ‘Astapa’ sobre la presunta corrupción política y urbanística en Estepona. Un procedimiento que se inició en 2007 y en el que hay 50 acusados, entre ellos, el que fuera alcalde del municipio, el exsocialista Antonio Barrientos. Las primeras detenciones se produjeron en 2008, aunque la investigación comenzó antes a raíz de una denuncia presentada por dos concejales del PSOE, partido que gobernaba entonces la localidad junto al Partido de Estepona (PES). En esta causa, que llegó a tener más de 100 personas imputadas, se han investigado fundamentalmente delitos de cohecho, blanqueo de capitales, malversación de caudales públicos, fraude y prevaricación. Para Barrientos, que estuvo en prisión provisional 6 meses, la Fiscalía pide una pena de 10 años y 9 meses de cárcel además de 38 años de inhabilitación para ejercer un cargo público. Está acusado por los supuestos delitos de falsedad, fraude, malversación, cohecho, prevaricación y tráfico de influencias. Además, están acusados otros cinco antiguos responsables municipales, entonces miembros del PSOE y del Partido de Estepona, así como empresarios y funcionarios. Esta trama aborda la existencia de una presunta ‘caja B’ en el Ayuntamiento con aportaciones de promotores con intereses inmobiliarios, a través de donaciones y las supuestas irregularidades en los convenios urbanísticos para beneficiar a ciertos empresarios. La Fiscalía Anticorrupción estima inicialmente en 28 millones de euros el perjuicio causado al Ayuntamiento a raíz del caso.
