Los Reyes inician su primer viaje oficial a EEUU

Español:Los Reyes Felipe y Letizia comienzan hoy la que es su primera visita oficial a Estados Unidos como monarcas. Allí serán recibidos por el presidente del país, Barack Obama, en la Casa Blanca y asistirán a una reunión del Comité de Asuntos Exteriores del Senado y a un encuentro con científicos españoles en la Universidad de Georgetown, entre otras actividades.

Don Felipe y Doña Letizia pasarán un total de cinco días en Estados Unidos, donde les espera una agenda muy intensa que tendrá como colofón los actos conmemorativos por el 450 aniversario de San Agustín (Florida), la primera ciudad fundada en territorio estadounidense por el asturiano Pedro Menéndez.

Los Reyes estarán acompañados en este viaje del ministro de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperación, José Manuel García-Margallo.

Don Felipe y Obama ya se reunieron en septiembre del año pasado en Nueva York, donde ambos asistieron a la Asamblea General de la ONU. Además, el Rey y la Reina tuvieron ocasión de entrevistarse con el presidente estadounidense y su esposa, Michelle Obama. Esta vez, por tanto, será la primera vez que los monarcas visiten la Casa Blanca.
