Inmigrantes paquistaníes empleados en condiciones de semiesclavitud en restaurantes de kebap

Español:Una operación entre fuerzas de seguridad de España y Polonia ha culminado con la detención de 29 presuntos traficantes de inmigrantes paquistaníes que eran empleados en condiciones de semiesclavitud en restaurantes de kebab en España.
Esta operación contra el tráfico de inmigrantes y la trata de seres humanos, coordinada por Europol, se llevó a cabo el 24 y el 25 de octubre y contó con la participación de 365 agentes de España y Polonia.
El objetivo era un grupo de delincuencia organizada paquistaní que facilitaba el acceso de ciudadanos de su país a la Unión Europea por las rutas que cruzan el mar Mediterráneo de Libia a Italia y de Turquía a Grecia.
La banda ofrecía «paquetes» a los inmigrantes con documentos falsificados para pedir permisos de residencia, a menudo ligados a ofertas de empleo «falsas» para trabajar en restaurantes de kebab en España, donde eran explotados laboralmente y estaban en condiciones de semiesclavitud para pagar las deudas contraídas.
La investigación dio comienzo cuando las autoridades policiales españolas conocieron la existencia de una red criminal que explotaba a paquistaníes. «Los inmigrantes irregulares no recibían salario, no tenían vacaciones o prestaciones de seguridad social y trabajaban largas jornadas en condiciones abusivas».

Durante la operación se llevaron a cabo 60 inspecciones de restaurantes dirigidos por miembros de la red criminal y 51 registros domiciliarios en España y en Polonia.
