La esquina de la Alameda de Colón y la calle del Comandante Benítez en Málaga capital, el lugar al que llegó Manuel José García Caparrós mortalmente herido el 4 de diciembre de 1977, tras los incidentes en la manifestación por la autonomía andaluza, es desde este viernes Lugar de Memoria Democrática de Andalucía.
El cartel que lo recuerda ha sido inaugurado por el vicepresidente de la Junta, Manuel Jiménez Barrios, y el alcalde de Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, así como por las tres hermanas del fallecido que entonces solo tenía 18 años, por disparos de la Policía Armada.
El vicepresidente de la Junta ha recordado la figura de Caparrós y ha destacado que el Ejecutivo andaluz va a recurrir en los tribunales esa ley para conocer lo ocurrido.
y ha explicado que el gran reto de la autonomía es hoy la financiación para sustentar los servicios públicos.
De la Torre, por su parte, ha señalado que faltan aún por traspasar competencias autonómicas a las administraciones locales, uno de los aspectos pendientes del proceso autonómico.
El acto ha finalizado con el Himno andaluz.
