Noticia – El Senado de EEUU condena culpable al Príncipe de Arabia Saudí

El Senado de Estados Unidos ha aprobado este jueves una resolución condenando al príncipe heredero de Arabia Saudí, Mohamed bin Salmán, por el asesinato del periodista Yamal Kashogi, en el interior del consulado del país árabe, en la ciudad turca de Estambul. En caso de que la resolución sea aprobada también por la Cámara de Representantes será presentada al presidente, Donald Trump, quien se ha posicionado hasta la fecha del lado de Riad. El mandatario reiteró el martes su apoyo a Bin Salmán a pesar de que la CIA informó, en una evaluación, que ordenó el asesinato del Kashogi y a pesar de las peticiones de los senadores estadounidenses a Trump para que condene al líder de facto de Arabia Saudí. Las autoridades saudíes negaron durante semanas cualquier responsabilidad en la muerte de kashogi y llegaron a asegurar que abandonó el edificio poco después de entrar. Finalmente tuvo que admitir que fue asesinato e incluso que había sido planeado.

The United States Senate on Thursday approved a resolution condemning the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohamed bin Salman, for the murder of journalist Yamal Kashogi, inside the consulate of the Arab country, in the Turkish city of Istanbul. In the event that the resolution is also approved by the House of Representatives it will be presented to the president, Donald Trump, who has been positioned to date on the side of Riyadh. The president reiterated on Tuesday his support for Bin Salman despite the fact that the CIA informed, in an evaluation, that he ordered the assassination of the Kashogi and in spite of the requests of the American senators to Trump to condemn the de facto leader of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi authorities denied for weeks any responsibility in the death of Kashogi and came to assure that he left the building shortly after entering. Finally he had to admit that it was murder and even that it had been planned.
