El ministro para el Brexit, Steve Barclay, ha afirmado que Reino Unido no debe tener miedo a dejar la Unión Europea sin acuerdo si finalmente no hay luz verde a ningún plan. Barclay votó en contra de la enmienda que aprobó este jueves el Parlamento británico para pedir un aplazamiento a la Unión Europea. La fecha límite para la salida del Reino Unido es el 29 de marzo, aunque es posible una ampliación siempre que lo pida Londres y los Veintisiete lo aprueben por unanimidad. Los jefes de Estado y de Gobierno se reúnen el 21 y 22 de marzo en Bruselas para tratar el tema. Una de las opciones es aprobar una pequeña extensión para dar tiempo a que Theresa May convenza al Parlamento británico de aprobar su plan. Si la prórroga es de varios meses, Reino Unido deberá participar en las elecciones europeas porque seguirá siendo miembro de pleno derecho hasta que abandone la UE. La tercera vía es una salida sin acuerdo.

The minister for the Brexit, Steve Barclay, has affirmed that the United Kingdom should not be afraid to leave the European Union without agreement if finally there is no green light to any plan.
