Noticia – Nepal anuncia una comisión para investigar la muerte de montañeros

El Gobierno de Nepal ha anunciado la creación de una comisión para investigar la muerte de nueve montañeros en el lado nepalí del Everest durante la temporada de escalada de este año. La comisión estará formada por cinco personas, incluido el primer ministro y ministro de Turismo, que se encargarán de revisar las leyes y políticas sobre montañismo y hacer recomendaciones para mejorarlas. Unas 5.000 personas tratan de conquistar la cima del Everest cada año. Más de 300 han muerto en el intento, once durante la pasada temporal, que ha sido especialmente letal con nueve víctimas en el lado nepalí y dos en el tibetano. Esta decisión sigue a los numerosos llamamientos a Nepal para que limite la cantidad de personas que pueden escalar el Everest al mismo tiempo

The Government of Nepal has announced the creation of a commission to investigate the deaths of nine mountaineers on the Nepalese side of Everest during this year’s climbing season.
