Los gobiernos de China y Estados Unidos han pactado cancelar, en distintas fases y de manera proporcional, las respectivas subidas de aranceles implementadas durante los meses de enfrentamiento comercial que han mantenido ambas potencias. El número de cancelaciones en la primera fase del acuerdo se podrá acordar entre las partes dentro del contenido de la primera etapa del pacto entre EEUU y China. Hacerlo ayudará a estabilizar las expectativas del mercado, beneficiará a las economías de los dos países y también a la economía mundial, beneficiando a los productores y a los consumidores. Por su parte, el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI) ha apuntado que un acuerdo comercial entre EEUU y China que revertiera algunos de los aranceles fijados durante la guerra comercial tendría el potencial suficiente para mejorar las perspectivas económicas que maneja la institución.
