🔴Noticia – El antiguo Hospital Militar de Sevilla abre al completo

El antiguo Hospital Militar de Sevilla ha abierto este lunes sus puertas. Ya funciona a pleno rendimiento tras más de dos años de rehabilitación por parte de la Junta de Andalucía y una inversión de 74 millones de euros. El edificio fue cedido por el Estado en 2003 pero los gobiernos socialistas en Andalucía no le dieron ningún uso hasta que en 2021, bajo el ejecutivo de Juanma Moreno, y coincidiendo con la pandemia, se habilitaron algunas plantas para acoger a enfermos de Covid-19. Poco después se fueron abriendo otras unidades. El edificio cuenta con un total de 13 plantas con 375 camas, 10 quirófanos y 25 camas de UCI. También dispone de una Unidad de Salud Mental con 26 camas y una para lesionados medulares. El presidente de la Junta, Juanma Moreno, ha acudido a esta puesta de largo y se ha felicitado por la inversión realizada por su gobierno asegurando que con la recuperación de este centro hospitalario, Andalucía da un salto de calidad y pone al servicio de la salud un equipamiento de primer nivel. El hospital funciona con personal procedente del Virgen del Rocío y algunas incorporaciones nuevas, con lo que este hospital sevillano ha visto reducida su plantilla con el traslado de algunos de sus profesionales. El antiguo Hospital Militar de Sevilla ha sido renombrado como Hospital Doctor Muñoz Cariñanos, en homenaje a este médico militar que fue asesinado por ETA en el año 2000 en la capital andaluza.
