Pablo Casado le trasladaba su rechazo, al presidente del Gobierno en funciones, Pedro Sánchez, de facilitar su investidura pero le ofrecía colaboración en cuestiones de Estado. Por su parte, poco antes, Albert Rivera reiteraba a Sánchez, que Ciudadanos no apoyará su nombramiento y le instaba a entenderse con Podemos.
