El grupo municipal de Unidas Podemos por Málaga llevará al pleno de este jueves una moción para que el Ayuntamiento plantee la posibilidad de que las mascotas puedan acceder a los autobuses del transporte urbano. También piden que estos animales puedan acceder a dependencias municipales en la línea de otros municipios como Fuengirola que han implantado esta medida recientemente. Desde esta formación aseguran que es un paso necesario para que Málaga avance como ciudad amiga de los animales y para lograr un aumento del uso del transporte público, ya que en la actualidad, muchas personas que conviven con mascotas no lo utilizan porque no pueden subir al autobús con sus animales de compañía. El viceportavoz de la formación, Nicolás Sguiglia, ha indicado que evidentemente esta propuesta irá acompañada de una regulación y la fijación de unos límites lógicos como fijar un límite en el número de animales por autobús, habilitar un espacio concreto del vehículo para estos o establecer límites en cuanto al volumen y peso del animal, por ejemplo.
