🔴Noticia – La Junta actúa en el sellado del vertedero de Torremolinos

Ramón Fernández-Pacheco también ha estado este jueves en Torremolinos donde ha visitado la obra de sellado del vertedero de esta localidad. El consejero de Medio Ambiente ha destacado que este es solo uno de los siete proyectos de sellado de vertederos que se están realizando en Andalucía y que van a suponer una inversión de más de 10 millones de euros. Estas actuaciones entran dentro de la llamada economía circular por la que la Junta de Andalucía está apostando. El sellado del vertedero de Torremolinos dejó de recibir residuos hace más de una década y llegó a albergar hasta 1 millón de toneladas. Ahora se está actuando sobre una superficie de 52.300 metros cuadrados en las que se van a plantar más de 75.000 plantas de arbusto. Y es que cuando este vertedero dejó de funcionar, su clausura no incluyó medidas oportunas. Entre otras cosas, con esta actuación se impedirá la infiltración de agua de lluvia y posible escorrentías, además de facilitar una extracción controlada de los gases generados por la descomposición de la materia orgánica. Junto al consejero ha estado también la alcaldesa de Torremolinos, Margarita del Cid, que ha señalado que con esta actuación se pone fin a un enorme problema medioambiental que se ha mantenido durante 20 años.
