Español: El PSOE en el ayuntamiento de Málaga se ha hecho eco de un problema del que no somos realmente conscientes: la tirada de toallitas higiénicas, las toallitas húmedas que usamos para los bebés, al inodoro. En los últimos años se ha disparado su uso y, al no ser biodegradables, no son eliminadas por el sistema de depuración y suponen una seria amenaza para las redes de saneamiento, especialmente en los sistemas de bombeo, generando importantes atascos. Cada año deben retirarse toneladas de estas toallitas atrapadas en las estaciones de bombeo y en el alcantarillado, generando un importante coste para las arcas municipales que puede llegar hasta el millón de euros, pero también para las familias.

Es por todo ello que la portavoz del Grupo Municipal Socialista en el Ayuntamiento de la capital, María Gámez, ha planteado la realización de una campaña de concienciación ante los daños que estos materiales sintéticos ocasionan en la red y en los sistemas de depuración, más allá de los colegios.

Además, desde el PSOE instarán al equipo de gobierno a establecer una serie de contactos con diferentes colectivos ciudadanos, comunidades de vecinos y con el sector empresarial para solicitar su colaboración en esta campaña para la correcta eliminación de este y otros productos no degradables. También piden a EMASA agudizar las medidas de control y seguimiento sobre la limpieza de colectores y de sus vertidos.

Por otro lado, María Gámez ha recordado que en septiembre del pasado año se produjo una acumulación de basuras y residuos de origen fecal en las playas de la zona oeste de Málaga, lo que ocasionó grandes molestias debido a los malos olores, además del impacto medioambiental, debido a una serie de vertidos provenientes de unos colectores de saneamiento, al parecer, colapsados y afectados por las lluvias caídas en esos días.

Los socialistas han denunciado que la gestión por parte de la empresa Limasa III en la retirada de los residuos cuando se producen estas situaciones “no es todo lo eficaz que debería de ser, de modo que el Grupo municipal Socialista solicitó poner en marcha un sistema de alerta para reaccionar de forma inmediata ante un vertido de residuales en las playas. Según Gámez, si el control y la reacción rápida son imprescindibles para gestionar adecuadamente estos sucesos, más lo es prevenir de forma efectiva este tipo de vertidos procedentes de la red de saneamiento municipal.

On the other hand, Maria Gamez recalled that in September last year there was an accumulation of garbage and waste of faecal origin on the beaches of the west of Malaga, causing great inconvenience due to odors, and also environmental impact because of a series of discharges from sanitation manifolds apparently collapsed and affected by the rains in those days.
