La salida de Reino Unido de la Unión Europea (UE) podría llegar a tener un significativo impacto negativo en la economía británica, que podría perder hasta 950.000 empleos y 100.000 millones de libras esterlinas (unos 130.000 millones de euros) para 2020, según un informe encargado por la Confederación de la Industria Británica

El documento elaborado por PwC, que se ha presentado por la directora general de CBI, Carolyn Fairbairn, en una conferencia en la London Business School, donde tiene previsto advertir de que «la economía se recuperaría lentamente con el paso del tiempo, aunque nunca volvería al lugar en que habría estado».

Según el escenario «optimista» de ‘Brexit’ manejado por PwC, en el que Reino Unido firmaría rápidamente un tratado comercial con sus antiguos socios, el Producto Interior Bruto (PIB) crecería un 1,5% de media entre 2016 y 2020, por debajo del 2,3% de media anual estimado en caso de mantenerse como miembro de la UE
