El secretario de Organización del PSOE-A, Juan Cornejo, ha señalado al candidato del PP y presidente del Gobierno en funciones, Mariano Rajoy, como el «principal culpable» de la situación que atraviesa el país por su «arrogancia y soberbia» y por querer conseguir un gobierno «por su cara bonita», por eso ha considerado que el país merece que «sea generoso» y Rajoy dé un paso atrás, al tiempo que ha pedido «no engañar ni distraer» a los ciudadanos porque aunque «hay una buena voluntad en la búsqueda de la suma de tres partidos que aritméticamente resuelve la situación, políticamente es inviable por el veto cruzado entre Podemos y Ciudadanos (C’s), que imposibilita cualquier acuerdo».

En rueda de prensa tras la primera Comisión Ejecutiva que el PSOE-A ha celebrado en este nuevo curso político, Cornejo ha asegurado que los socialistas andaluces «no están en la abstención» porque no se ha producido ese debate y que el PSOE convocará un Comité Federal.

Cornejo también ha señalado que es la primera vez que un presidente en funciones suspende una investidura, de manera que ha considerado que Rajoy «es uno de los problemas que tiene el país».
