Alrededor de 70 organizaciones humanitarias han suspendido su cooperación con Naciones Unidas en Siria, acusando al organismo de estar influido por el Gobierno en sus operaciones, incluidas las de reparto de ayuda.

En una carta enviada a la ONU, los 73 grupos han anunciado su retirada del ‘Mecanismo de Intercambio de Información para Todo Siria’, según ha informado la cadena de televisión qatarí Al Yazira, y han reclamado una investigación transparente sobre «el impacto político del Gobierno sirio sobre los actores humanitarios».

Así, han acusado a la ONU de «complacencia» con las interferencias de Damasco en la entrega de la ayuda humanitaria, incluido el bloqueo de las entregas a zonas bajo control de los rebeldes y la marginalización de trabajadores humanitarios por razones políticas.

En respuesta, el portavoz de la Secretaría General de la ONU ha recalcado que las operaciones del organismo en el país árabe «son transparentes».
