El sector de VTC cuenta con 1.184 licencias en Málaga, tercera ciudad de España detrás de Madrid y Barcelona con más VTC, y 222 en Sevilla al cierre de diciembre.

En total a nivel nacional, el sector logró 240 nuevas autorizaciones durante el pasado mes de diciembre, con lo que al cierre de 2018 superó la cota de las 13.000, al sumar un total de 13.125 licencias, según el registro oficial del Ministerio de Fomento.

A la conclusión del pasado año se contabilizaba un coche de los que dan servicio a plataformas como Uber o Cabify por cada cinco taxis, frente a la proporción de uno por treinta que la Ley de Ordenación del Transporte Terrestre establece para otorgar licencias a estos dos transportes urbanos.

Los taxistas de varias ciudades vuelven a manifestarse para reclamar a las administraciones locales y autonómicas que entren a regular este nuevo transporte urbano.
