Noticia – El SAS incorpora el test de sangre en embarazadas para diagnóstico de anomalías

El Servicio Andaluz de Salud ha incorporado el test prenatal en sangre, dentro del Programa de Cribado de Anomalías Congénitas. Esto evitará en muchos casos la realización de técnicas invasivas como la amniocentesis o biopsia corial, que hasta ahora eran necesarias para confirmar el diagnóstico de cromosomopatías fetales. Este nuevo test supone un gran avance ya que minimiza riesgos para la madre y el feto, optimiza la fiabilidad de los resultados y contribuye a reducir la ansiedad de los padres. Consiste en una extracción de sangre a la mujer embarazada donde se analiza el ADN fetal ya que se encuentra circulando libre en la sangre materna.

Se estima que esta nueva técnica beneficiará a entre el 3,6 y el 4,95 por ciento de las gestantes, lo que supone entre 3.000 y 4.000 mujeres cada año.

The Andalusian Health Service has incorporated the prenatal blood test, within the Program for the Screening of Congenital Anomalies. This will avoid in many cases the performance of invasive techniques such as amniocentesis or corial biopsy, which until now were necessary to confirm the diagnosis of fetal chromosomal abnormalities. This new test is a great step forward since it minimizes risks for the mother and the fetus, optimizes the reliability of the results and contributes to reduce the anxiety of the parents. It consists of an extraction of blood to the pregnant woman where the fetal DNA is analyzed since it is circulating freely in the maternal blood.

It is estimated that this new technique will benefit between 3.6 and 4.95 percent of pregnant women, which means between 3,000 and 4,000 women each year.
