La Costa del Sol ha vuelto a vivir el mejor verano turístico de su historia estimándose una llegada total de siete millones trescientos sesenta y ocho mil visitantes entre los meses de junio a septiembre de este año, un 4,1 por ciento más que en el verano de 2018 y, de nuevo, el máximo registro alcanzado en la historia del destino en este período.

El presidente de Turismo Costa del Sol, Francisco Salado, ha señalado que, aunque en la Costa del Sol nunca se puede afirmar con rotundidad que el verano haya acabado del todo, porque somos un destino siempre cálido, podemos decir que el verano de 2019 ha sido espectacular e histórico, en el que hemos vuelto a batir récords gracias al crecimiento de prácticamente todos los indicadores.

Además, la actividad turística ha supuesto un incremento en el empleo hotelero de un +6,5%, es decir, un total de 1.106 empleos más.

Reino Unido sigue siendo el principal emisor de pasajeros a la Costa del sol con un aumento del 1,7% en el período analizado, es decir, 17.264 llegadas más que en 2018.
El grado de ocupación hotelera también ha crecido en 1,6 puntos porcentuales.
Por último, las previsiones hasta final de año también indican un crecimiento de un +4% y se prevé superar la barrera de los 13 millones de visitantes en todo 2019.
