El nuevo outlet de lujo de Plaza Mayor ha abierto ya sus puertas, con 40 tiendas de primeras marcas abiertas, que ofrecen descuentos de entre el 30 y el 70%. No obstante, las intenciones de McArthurGlen, promotora de este centro, es que para finales de mes haya 70 establecimientos a pleno rendimiento. Los nuevos accesos duplican los carriles de entrada de dos a cuatro, con idea de tener capacidad suficiente para atender el previsible incremento de afluencia a la zona. Los trabajos los ejecuta Sando, que ha llegado a duplicar personal y turnos de trabajo para acelerar su ejecución, acortando el plazo de finalización hasta en un mes y medio. Las previsiones iniciales apuntan a que se han creado 600 puestos de trabajo en esta primera fase, que ascenderán a 1.000 con el proyecto completo. De hecho, McArthurGlen tiene prevista una apertura de una segunda fase, con más tiendas aunque todavía no hay fechas para su construcción ya que la prioridad es asentar el nuevo espacio.
