El secretario general del Grupo Socialista en el Congreso de los Diputados, Miguel Ángel Heredia, ha asegurado que miembros del Partido Socialista de Cataluña (PSC) «estuvieron en el debate, participaron, votaron y tienen que acatar» la decisión mayoritaria adoptada por el Comité Federal de este pasado domingo, incidiendo en que «no contempla» otra opción más que «todos los diputados» del PSOE acepten la resolución para abstenerse en segunda votación en la investidura de Mariano Rajoy.

Así, en rueda de prensa en Málaga, ha sostenido que defiende la disciplina de voto porque significa «respeto de las decisiones colectivas» y ha incidido en que la resolución del Federal «es un mandato». Sobre una posible sanción o medida si los socialistas catalanes votan en contra, Heredia ha reiterado que «no contempla otro escenario que no sea que todos los diputados apoyen la resolución».
