El exministro socialista de Presidencia y portavoz en el Parlamento Europeo, Ramón Jáuregui, defiende que se pacte una candidatura única para el próximo Congreso Federal que celebre el PSOE, evitando de esta manera que una «tensión personal» prorrogue la división.
En su opinión, el partido puede «remontar» y estar en condiciones de ser alternativa en tres años, aunque admite que necesita tejer alianzas para ser un partido de Gobierno porque ve difícil volver al 40 por ciento del voto.En su opinión, el partido «no puede seguir girando en torno a un exsecretario general», pero se dirige a él con «todo el respeto a un exsecretario general» del PSOE y «a un compañero» al que aprecia.
No quiere «regodearse» en el pasado, ni acusa a nadie de cómo están las cosas.
Sin embargo, no quiere pronunciarse sobre quién puede o debe ser candidato en el PSOE.
