40 militares turcos en bases de la OTAN piden asilo en Alemania – Málaga 24h TV

Unos 40 militares turcos que sirven en bases de la OTAN en Alemania han solicitado asilo a las autoridades de este país ante la purga emprendida por el presidente turco, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, contra los responsables del intento de golpe de Estado del año pasado, según ha informado el diario ‘Der Spiegel’.

Los militares afirman que han sido víctimas de esta purga, iniciada tras el golpe el pasado 15 de julio que se saldó con más de 240 muertos y unos 2.200 heridos fueron detenidos o suspendidos decenas de miles de militares, agentes, jueces, funcionarios públicos y docentes.

De acuerdo con uno de los solicitantes, ellos «no simpatizan con los golpistas» sin embargo «se orientan hacia Occidente y abogan por un Estado laico».

El diputado alemán, Stefan Meyer, comentó al diario que no hay duda de que no pueden entregar estos soldados a Turquía ya que allí les meterán en la cárcel enseguida.

Anteriormente, el Tribunal Supremo de Grecia decidió denegar la extradición de ocho militares turcos que se fugaron en helicóptero a Grecia tras la asonada y pidieron asilo político.
